So, today, I went to the walk-in clinic. My foot had been steadily getting worse the past few days, and I knew I had to have a doctor look at it. Got to the clinic around 11:35, was taken in to see the doctor around 12:00pm. After a few minutes with the nurse, I waited a few more minutes for the doctor. He did an exam then sent me down for X-rays.
I got 5 X-rays: two of my foot, three of my ankle. Waited for them to be developed, then I went back to the doctor. That’s when I had to wait another long time, but finally, I got back there, and the doctor looked at the X-rays. No fractures, which surprised me — just one hell of a sprained ankle.
So now I’m on ice therapy 3 to 4 times a day, plus wearing this air cast for a week. Oh, and he gave me a prescription for Vicodin, since apparently ibuprofen can cause kidney problems in diabetic. Strange; my primary doctor is well-versed in diabetic research, and he’s said it’s okay for me to take Advil. Definitely something to not overdo, though, I suppose.
Anyway, vicodin — woo, strong drugs! Not that I’m hopped up on them right now, since it’s for pain only, and then only before bed.
